HMD-Owned Nokia Announces Its First Smartphone, the Nokia 6

Finnish company Nokia has made its much-awaited return under HMD leadership. The former mobile behemoth has officially announced its first smartphone called Nokia 6 for the Chinese markets.

The launch of the device has taken place quite surprisingly albeit the fact that Nokia has been poised for a return with mid-range devices for quite a time. However, the new device comes surpassing the expectations as Nokia has managed to load quite more than just a mid-range device.

The Nokia 6 is a mid-range smartphone of the upper segment, and features all the specifications you would hope to see in that category. The Nokia 6 comes with a metallic unibody design, and this comes paired with a 5.5-inch display that comes protected under 2.5D Corning Gorilla Screen.

Packed inside the device is a mid-powered Snapdragon 430 processor. Quite contrary to the common pairing, the Nokia 6 has managed to add 4 GB of RAM to its smartphone along with an inbuilt storage of 64 GB. This is something unusual for a mid-ranged device, but Nokia is sending out a message that it won’t be going naive in its return.

The device also packs a 16 MP primary camera, and the front-side features an 8MP shooter. Nokia 6 will pack a decent battery of 3000 mAh capacity. It will also come loaded with the latest version of Android, the Nougat. Additional features like fingerprint sensor, Dolby Atmos etc. are also stuffed in Nokia 6. The device will be arriving exclusively for the Chinese market with a price tag of $250 (1699 YUAN)

An exclusive launch for China isn’t something that was expected with the much-awaited return of Nokia, but the new device that comes above expectation is a strong indication of what we can expect from the HMD-pioneered Nokia in the coming days on global stage. At least, the company has managed to raise the expectations for the upcoming MWC 2017, where it will be revealing couple of its new smartphones.
