Samsung is making up for the Note 7 Recall with a Big Galaxy S8

December 27, 2016, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Samsung will most probably be ditching the Edge this time in its flagship for a ‘Plus’. Quite apparently, the Edge is getting disappeared only from the name, as both the Galaxy S8 devices launched this year would be coming with the curved display.

This very adoption should considerably reduce the differences between the two devices, and the only gap between the two devices would be with its screen size. But Samsung is making sure that at least this gap remains big. For that, the company is now said to be introducing its Galaxy S8 Plus device with a massive screen size that would measure 6-inch diagonally.

If this turns true, Samsung would be launching its biggest ever flagship device this year, and it will even be sized above the Galaxy Note 7 device that measured only 5.7-inches. This will be eased with the introduction of thinner bezels for the bigger device.

The report comes from the homeland of Samsung, and it also adds that Samsung won’t be adding a Stylus device to the Galaxy S8 Plus flagship. It should just be a tactical move, but it also points at a Note revival at a later point next year, as Samsung would be willing to retain the exclusivity of Stylus to its Note branded smartphones.

We need to see if the Galaxy S8 Plus device will have any other plus over the normal 5-inch sized Galaxy S8 device. As per current rumors, Samsung is likely to introduce 6GB RAM for the first time in its flagship, and the new Plus labeling could means it could turn out that the smaller version will retain the 4GB RAM being used in the current Galaxy S flagship series.
