Huawei to Embrace Bezel-less Trend with Upcoming Honor Magic

Going bezel-less has swiftly become the trend among smartphone flagships these days. Xiaomi has already embraced the path with Mi Mix, and Apple and Samsung are said to be following the suit with their upcoming flagship devices. But much before the giants show up with their respective pieces, the tech world could witness the entry of a new competitor in the field.

Chinese manufacturer Huawei is the new name paired with bezel-less technology, and it will be coming up with the design with the new smartphone Honor Magic. The device is expected to be making its public appearance on December 12.

Unlike Xiaomi’s Mi Mix design, the Honor Magic will slightly deviate from the complete bezel-less design, and instead will follow the lines of counterparts like Oppo and Vivo who have went behind ultra-thin designs. It will be along this line that Huawei will be designing its bezel-less device.

What it means is that Honor Magic won’t be getting rid of bezels from all the sides. The smartphone is expected to retain thin bezels on top and bottom, but will still maintain a screen to body ratio of above 85%, which is a good number after all. This will also be letting the smartphone to retain the front camera on the top thin bezel, alongside retaining the fingerprint sensors on the front side.

As per the recent leaks, the smartphone will also have a curved display similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, making the bezel-less design appear catchier. There also appears to be no speakers placed on its front side. The specs of the device haven’t yet been revealed, but it can be expected to be kept in the upper-segment category.
