Xiaomi Mi Note 2 to Come with Dual-Camera Setup

October 4, 2016, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Xiaomi has only recently unveiled its MI 5s and Mi 5s Plus devices, both of which packed the recent hardware upgrades on top of what was offered in the Mi 5 flagship. Now, it appears that the company is planning to expand its new premium upgrades to new launches.

The Mi Note 2, which has been present in the rumors for a while, has made its first unofficial appearance through a teaser posted on China’s social media site Weibo. There has been no big revelation made in the teaser. Still, it do shows the glimpses of the rear-side of the new Mi Note device, from which it has become apparent that the device will feature dual-camera setup on its rear.

Xiaomi introduced the dual-cam technology in its latest Mi 5s device. But unlike the flagship, the Mi Note 2 will have cameras placed on either side, instead of having them lined up vertically like in the Mi 5s device. The image also displays the dual-flash to the right of the lenses.

What’s missing in the image is the fingerprint sensor, going by which we can assume that it will get placed along the home button. Xiaomi has followed the trend of pitching the fingerprint sensor along with the home button for its flagship smartphone. With the Mi Note being its flagship phablet, we expect no difference in that pattern.

Apart from that, the Mi Note 2 device is also expected to feature the latest Snapdragon 821 SoC, which will expectedly be paired with a RAM of 6GB. The display is expected to be in the range of 5.5-5.7-inch, which can also be expected to be maxed with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Xiaomi is also expected to double the storage with an in-built space of 256 GB. A 4000mAh battery is expected to be on-board to power up the mighty storage.

There is no info on when the device will get officially unveiled. But according to the buzz, Xiaomi will have the device launched soon, probably before the end of October.
