We are finally heading into the final round of the anticipated smartphone launches. Pixel smartphones, the much awaited Nexus replacement from Google is now likely to arrive during the first week of October as the company has now announced its official event for October 4.

A teaser video of the event has also been aired by Google that confirms that the event will see the launch of a smartphone, which most likely should be the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones manufactured by HTC. The 30 second video displays a Google search bar being slowly transformed into a smartphone with a rectangular form.

This is pretty much in line with the recent rumors and leaks that brought out the looks of Google’s Pixel smartphones. An apparent image hidden inside Google’s new “made by” site revealed a similar form for the upcoming smartphone. Another leak of the device looks was also spotted in a Nest advertisement, which was said to be bearing the upcoming device within it.

Google’s Pixel smartphone is expected to take a wide deviation from its current Nexus branding. The device will skip the Nexus branding as well as the manufacturer branding, keeping only the Google logo adhered to its body. The event teaser also displays only a Google logo at the end, which should be an indication of what’s to come in the new smartphones.

Apart from Pixel smartphones, Google is also expected to debut its Google Home speaker, the rival to Amazon’s Echo range of speakers. Google’s DayDream VR and an upgraded Chromecast device is also being anticipated for a launch during the event that will be held in SanFrancisco.
