Samsung Gear S3 to Debut This Month

The third edition of Samsung’s Gear smartwatch series will be making its debut this month. The South Korean company has now teased the Samsung Gear S3 launch event for IFA Berlin on August 31.

Samsung has started sending invites for its August 31 event, and the invite contains multiple hints that point towards the launch of Samsung Gear S3 launch. Depicted with a Gear branding, the event teaser highlights the image of a smartwatch with dials, with a reading beneath that reads ‘Talk about 3’.

The Twitter handle of the company has also teased the event, which is being said to bring forward a ‘timely’ innovation.

Samsung is one among the very few company that are vamping up their smartwatch line-up this year. This is despite the smartwatch sales hitting a big decline this year. With that said, Samsung Gear S3 can be expected to be beefed up with surprise features, as the company wouldn’t want to pitch a redesigned device under this scenario.

Nothing much has been revealed about the new Samsung Gear S3, and neither has there been any big leaks that revealed the smartwatch specs. However, it is believed that Samsung will roll out three versions of the Gear S3 this year. This will include an Explored edition that will pack more buttons, and changeable watch bands along with a crown.

The previous Samsung smartwatch, the Gear S2, was launched during September 2015, and is available currently in two editions: The Galaxy S2 Classic and the Galaxy S2 3G edition. It also later expanded the edition with gold and platinum colour editions. Samsung has also announced the iPhone compatibility of Gear smartwatches during January. It’s yet to be put to action, and we can expect that to come along with the Gear S3 launch.
