HP Premium Windows Phone will be Available Next Month

HP is one of the very few companies that haven’t given up on the sinking platform, the Windows Phone. The company now gearing up to launch a new Windows Phone device, and that too under the premium category.

Called Elite X3, HP’s flagship Windows Phone device will be arriving next month, precisely on August 29, for $699. There is also a bundle that is priced for $799, and it will include an extra charging dock, called Elite x3 Desk Dock, which can also be connected to a monitor via Windows Continuum. HP will also be releasing another bundle, which will include Desk Dock as well as a Lap Dock. The pricing of the bundle is yet to be revealed.

With that said, HP Elite X3 will be put forward as Business smartphone rather than a consumer smartphone. Based on its performance, the smartphone does fulfil the expectation of being a high-end device. The 5.96-inch smartphone is powered by Quad HD resolution, and it also features Bang & Olufsen technology for providing better audio.

Inside, we have Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 820 SoC that is accompanied by a RAM of 4GB. There is 64GB space available, and it can also be expanded via microSD. On the rear side, Elite x3 packs a 16MP camera, while the one used on the front side is an 8MP sensor. To supply for the gigantic display and spec arrangement, the Elite x3 also packs a 4150mAh battery.

But the performance and the heavy spec-sheet should barely reflect its influence in the market, as Elite X3 is still powered by Windows Phone, which has been long-omitted by other major smartphone vendors. It now needs to be seen whether the business-centric approach could raise the platform.
