Live video stream is taking birth almost everywhere, and the latest to join the bandwagon is Tumblr.

Following the rumours that the Tumblr is mulling over live video stream, the Yahoo-owned service has now officially launched the video-stream service in its smartphone app. The video-stream service went live after being teased via an image earlier.

Considering the live-stream services of rival services, Tumblr comes with an upper hand that it enables multiple stream services under one umbrella. Instead of spending on a video-stream platform of their own, Tumblr has incorporated the live-stream feature from other services.

TumblrThe currently active ones are those from YouTube, YouNow, Kanvas and Upclose. While this may pull down the uniqueness of the services, it still remains perky considering that you can have richer stream options available inside the same app.

Users can live stream through Tumblr by first integrating their Tumblr account with the preferred service from the aforementioned. Once live, they can directly share the stream to their Tumblr account.

tumblr1Tumblr still misses out on the live-streaming services from Facebook, Periscope and Twitch, but it still provides a busty source for live streaming contents. Besides, Tumblr is also holding talks with Mashable, Refinery29, MTV, The Huffington Post, etc to stream contents exclusively through Tumblr.

The live-stream is currently available on all mentioned apps, except for the iOS version of YouTube app. Tumblr says that it will be up in a few days. You can also check the live-video page from Tumblr to scroll through interesting live-feed contents.
