Asus is back with their ZenFone series. The Taiwanese manufacturer has lifted the wraps off three new ZenFone 3 models at Computex, and this time, Asus could finally boast some credits for their design department.

Unlike the previous phones in the series, the new ZenFone 3 features a completely premium design that stands up with any of the flagship phones available now in the market.

The edges of the new ZenFone 3 have become sharper, reducing the curvature, and most of all, the rear panel now adds a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection along with metallic frames.

The ZenFone 3 will be arriving in three new variants; the standard variant, a Deluxe Variant, and an Ultra Variant. The design for all the three devices has been kept uniform except for the sizes, and it’s according to the hardware that runs inside that Asus has classified their three new variants.

Besides the improvement in design, Asus Zenphone also manages to impart the novelty with its hardware segment. The smartphone is now the first to feature the new Snapdragon 625 mid-range SoC that packs eight A53 chips clocked at 2.0 GHz speeds. 4GB is what you get with the RAM department, while the internal storage is of around 64 GB.

The smartphone will have a 5.5-inch LED display that features Full HD resolution. The rear-side features a 16MP camera above the fingerprint sensor, and the front side comes packed with an 8 MP camera.

The Ultra version of ZenFone 3 features the same design pattern, but comes with a bigger display that measures 6.8 inch diagonally. The phablet also replaces the Snapdragon 625 SoC with the 652 SoC from Snapdragon, but with the same RAM as that in standard variant. Additional features include a better battery of 4600mAh capacity, USB Type-C connectivity, Display port support and an improved camera of 23MP.

The Deluxe variant, which is the premium version, is the most powerful of them all. Instead of the metallic frame design, the Deluxe variant features an aluminium embodiment behind the glass protection, and also boasts a RAM of 6GB coupled with the flagship processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820 SoC. The 5.7-inch sized device also features OLED panel, while the camera specifications remains the same as that of the Ultra version.

Asus is likely to introduce the smartphone into the markets only by the third quarter. Detailed pricing of the devices hasn’t been revealed yet, except for the revelation that the standard ZenFone 3 version will start billing at $249.
