YouTube Bringing a Feature Which We All Would Love

YouTube’s domain expansion has been quite intriguing. From video sharing to live streams, dedicated gaming pages, it went on. Now, they are expanding to a feature which would excite countless number of people; a Messenger feature.

It would seem like YouTube is taking on giants like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, but that needn’t be entirely true. YouTube’s plan to add support for conversations is completely centred around video discussions and easy sharing.

The service is being currently tested, and if all goes well, it will be rolled out as an under the YouTube ecosystem. The main aim is to make video sharing easier within YouTube, so that users needn’t switch to other platforms to share a video with their friends.

With the service activated, users can share them right within a chat window inside the app, and conversations can be enabled in the same window. The window will also stay alive so that users can have them viewed later when they want.

Users can also share other videos in the conversation tab; something which YouTube is doing to make sure that the conversations remain video-oriented. Clearly, this indicates that YouTube is not upping to take on the leaders in the messenger industry.

But direct sharing of YouTube videos can hit the usage of other apps, as people would find it easier to share videos without YouTube rather than pulling another app from the drawer.

The messenger services are being aimed to hit both Android and iOS. The tests currently being carried out are also conducted across both platforms, with a limited number of users. If it goes well, we could soon get an app update that brings messenger services on board.
