New Moto X Leak Points at a New Metal-Clad Design

With three generations of the Moto X flagship already being rolled out, it time for Motorola to shift gear. Now, it seems like they are doing exactly that with the next roll out from the series.

The fourth-gen version of Moto X was rumored much ago as coming with a new metallic body, ripping off the previous design norms of the brand. Now, a render leak from HellomotoHK has nearly confirmed it with leaked images of what appears to be the next Moto X.

Apart from a metallic body, the new Moto X, or Moto Droid with Verizon, also appears to have went through other major overhauls in the process.  The one thing that can be noticed is the flatter back side of the device.

The traditional curvy rear panel of the Moto devices seem to have been wiped off from the new Moto X, and it presents a much flatter design. The rear camera now presents a small bump. Within this are two small dots, which indicate a laser autofocus feature in the new Moto X.

Coming to the front, there’s a finger print sensor spotted right below the screen where home button is placed in the other devices. This would also shift the speaker probably down to the bottom side.

As with the inside specs, the flagship device is tipped to house a Snapdragon 820 chipset that will be paired with 4GB RAM. The device is said to be making its debut during July. But it won’t be a surprise if it heads out earlier, as Lenovo is already teasing new Motorola launches for an event scheduled to take place on June 9.
