Google Now Lets You Build Customized Nexus Cases

The Nexus range is now getting a new addition.  No, we haven’t yet heard anything about the new Nexus device, but it’s the new range of smartphone cases that we are talking about.

Called the Live Case, this new official casing from Google lets users design their own custom cases using any photo of their wish. Interestingly, Google has also added an option of having their cases customized with Maps.

Be it maps or photos, Google will also let the photos to be layered with other cool filters to make them more appealing when embracing your smartphone. More than a dozen of filters and other editing options are currently been made available. Users can also select whether to have glossy finish or to have matte finish.

The features of the smartphone casing don’t stop here; the smartphone casing also brings two features to justify its name. One is a companion Live Wallpaper which user can create by shuffling in their own images. The images can be set through the app that will be available, and it will automatically get activated in your device once you put the casing over it.

Another addition is a central shortcut button, which will let users open an app instantly by tapping on it. Users can set apps of their own choice under the option available in the companion app. Both the Live Wallpaper and the shortcut button works based on the NFC setup with Nexus device.

Google has made the Live Cases available at $35, for both map and photo imprinting, and is available for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, and Nexus 6P devices.  It’s not a costly casing either, as any of the currently available ones do cost near the above mentioned price point. Besides, they also don’t offer a shortcut button.
