Vine Launches Compact App for Apple Watch

Here’s a new platform to watch the six-second, looping Vine videos – Apple Watch. The Twitter-owned video sharing media has now launched its new app for viewing videos from its library on Apple Watches.

The watchOS version of the app confines users to just surfing and watching videos. It doesn’t make any sense in having the upload option after all.

Videos can be browsed under two segments: Favorites and Featured. These form the two distinct feed sections available in the compact app as of now.

Under the Favorites feed, users can view Vine videos that are uploaded from the accounts they follow.

The other segment is comprised by a list of hand-picked videos that are curated from various categories. Users will be able to favorite and re-Vine videos in both the feeds from the watchOS app.

Besides having access to Vine videos, the new app also brings a compilation feature of its own, displaying the loop-counts of your uploaded videos on various watch faces.

The feature sounds engrossing for those who are deeply involved with content uploads.

As for the rest, who are interested in Vine surfing, it serves handy by being a quick access button to the app on Apple Watch.

The support for the new app comes with version 4.4.0 of Vine, which also has added a couple of new features to the smartphone app.

A new Audio Remix feature now lets users to snatch the audio from a Vine video to a video of their own.

Users can also now jump to similar Vine videos by simply swiping the screen towards left while watching a video.

The related-videos feature was made available last month, but was accessible only under the Similar Video section beneath the post.
