Blackberry’s Second Android Won’t be a Slider, Suggests New Leak

November 13, 2015, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Blackberry’s first Android revelation made us feel that they still stick with tradition.

And, if the latest leak is to be believed, they are going further more traditional with the second device that will get birth under the Blackberry Android series.

After having a confirmation that Blackberry has a series of devices in the offing, Crackberry has pulled out a new image of a supposed Blackberry that is speculated to be the next Android device from the Canadian manufacturer.

Codenamed Blackberry Vienna, the device sheds the slide-keyboard that was introduced in Blackberry Priv, and replaces it with an ever-present physical keypad like the traditional Blackberry devices.

Blackberry has also maintained the same Priv design and layout for both its keypad as well as the design of its build, including physical navigational buttons, placement of power and volume buttons on either sides. The device is being show off in four color variants – silver, blue, black, and red.

With the return of a front merged keypad, the possibility is that Blackberry could ditch the screen size to accommodate the ever-present keypad.

Blackberry Priv featured a 5.4-inch sized display, which however would be too bulky for a smartphone if used with a permanent keypad alongside.

Apart from the leaked image, there’s nothing more revealed about this next Android rig from Blackberry. But there’s no hurry either. Priv has just stepped down to the markets, and Blackberry has hinted that they might not be presenting a new device this year.

The possible debut of the next device can be expected to be around spring 2016, before which we might be able to confirm the genuineness of their new Vienna device.
