BlackBerry Priv Android Device Goes On Sale Next Month

After staying in the rumors for a while, BlackBerry’s Android device is finally up at a stage to deliver.

The manufacturer’s official website has listed their first ever Android device, called the Priv, for the markets of the US, Canada, and the UK.

Running Android 5.1, the BlackBerry Priv arrives with a 5.4-inch display that packs a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, raking up a pixel density of 540 DPI.

Under the hood are a Snapdragon 808 chipset with dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57  and quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 processors, which is also coupled with a RAM of 3GB. 32GB of storage is what the BlackBerry Priv offers inbuilt.

BlackBerry hasn’t omitted the micro-SD slots either, which can expand your device storage up to 200GB.

Forming the core particular of its rear side is the 18MP Schneider-Kreuznach optics powered camera, which comes with optical image stabilization and 4K video capture capabilities.

The front cam however doesn’t stand up to the mark of current flagships, and is powered by only a 2MP sensor.

All these don’t go beyond the normal flagship specs of other vendors. But where BlackBerry differentiates its Android entity is with the exteriors.

Notable is the physical keypad, which is obviously an extinct piece from the current Androids.

What makes BlackBerry worthy of praise is the fine crafting of the device, which has seamlessly fitted the physical keypad into a 5.4-inch sized device.

The curved sides of the display don’t boast the Edge display technology, but it can draw more than a few glances from anyone.

There’s also space for a dedicated camera button to aid your snaps, all of which makes us feel that BlackBerry is rewinding its make parameters a bit.

BlackBerry Priv will be arriving first to the US and Canada markets, where it will be going on sale by November 6 for a price of US$699 and CA$899 respectively.

The UK version is priced at £559, and will have its shipment commenced on November 9. Pre-orders can be made at the official ShopBlackBerry website.
