Acer Windows 10 Devices Come with Solid Battery Backup

October 15, 2015, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

There are still many who prefer their PC setups than a laptop, even when they have to deal with portability. That’s where portable PCs step-up with light-weight hardware set-ups.

Yet, there still prevails a concern over their life as compared to notebooks. But you could wipe such concerns out with Acer’s new all-in-one PCs.

Unveiling their first range of Windows 10 devices, Acer has now presented the new Z3-700 all-in-one PC along with a Windows 10-running convertible notebook, Aspire R 14.

Both the models are being launched with a key emphasis on cutting down battery consumption. The PC variant Z3-700 is claimed to offer a battery back-up of around 5 hours, representing a decent show among the portable PCs.

The lightweight Z3-700 comes with a thickness of 15.6 mm, and is mounted with a RAM of 8GB and options to stack a HDD or SSD, each varying the total pricing of the device.

A 17.3-inch display forms the interface of the portable PC and packs a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with multi-touch support. You can also prefer to use the stylus packed with it.

The convertible variant in the Windows 10 line up comes bulkier than the PC version, but with lesser weight. Measuring 18.3 mm in thickness, the Aspire R 14 weighs around 1.9kg compared to the 2kg weight of Z3-700.

It features the same hardware by having 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and an SSD storage, the size of which can be altered accordingly by consumers. The convertible also arrives with a detachable keypad which can be used as a stand when not being used.

The device first to arrive will be the Aspire R 14, with its release expected to be around the last weeks of this month. The device is priced for 699 Euros ($798) and will be arriving in Europe, Middle East, Africa and North America. Z3-700 will be heading out only during the later stages of 2015, and is currently announced only for the Europe, Middle East and Africa markets for a price of 599 Euros ($680).
