“Privacy without compromise”. That was what Silent Circle offered when they launched their privacy-focused smartphone Blackphone in markets last year.

Now they are bringing version 2.0 of the secure smartphone, and we could expect something that will turn out to be the end-word for security in the world of smartphones.

With Blackphone 2, the developers have also vowed to bring some noticeable tweaks to the new OS, which is built around Android OS.

Those include letting more support for Android services including work programs.

It needs to be seen whether they will also include Play Store services and Google Apps, both of which were absent in Blackphone.

Speaking of the hardware section, the new device comes with a Full HD display of 5.5 inches, and is powered by a RAM-processor combo of 3GB and 1.7 GHz octa-core processor.

The rear-cam featured is of 13MP. There is no word yet on the remaining specs like battery and in-built storage, however the device will offer support for microSD cards.

There is also no word on the pricing of BlackPhone 2. With the previous device priced at $630 during its time of launch, we can expect the pricing of the successor to be higher than the aforesaid tag.
