Instagram Now Lets You Search through Your PC

Instagram users out there, mind sparing a few minutes to check out what’s new in your favorite social photo-sharing media?

You may also just head out to Instagram service from your desktops, and you could spot the difference the moment you get logged in.

In an effort to enhance the Instagram experience across all platforms, a new search bar has now been introduced for the desktop browsers, which will now let you search through Instagram accounts like in the app.

The new search bar is located on top-centre of the profile page, and will let you search for accounts, hashtags and also locations.

The addition follows a recent overhaul in the profile page design, which now welcomes you with an interface that’s similar to the layout in the app version. Collage picture on the top have been erased from the bio, and the pages have been redesigned with a new three-row interface that projects larger images. Previously, profile pages on desktop displayed five smaller images. The redesign was also brought about to feeds and hashtags.

The company has earlier revealed its humungous investments to augment the search features in Instagram. Speaking to Wired earlier this year, Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger admitted the lack of easiness with real-time search in Instagram, compared to those in Facebook, Twitter etc.

The online platform for image and video sharing was founded back in 2010 as an app-exclusive platform. It was later in 2012 during which the company opened up its usability from desktop browsers.
