Xolo New Entry-Level Smartphone Era is Cheap, but Has a Grand Spec-Sheet

Xolo is up again with an entry-level smartphone, which by its features look well set to lure the first-phone buyers in the market.

Named Era, the device is being pushed in to the entry-level segment with a price of INR 4,444 in India and appears to offer a good value for the money.

A quad-core processor of 1.2 GHz speed will run the things inside the Era, which also offers a fair package with the addition of 1GB RAM.

For an entry level smartphone, the device screen looks overwhelmed with a 5-inch screen.

The resolution however is of only FWVGA (480x854p), which might appear quite unpleasant to at least some eyes. But that doesn’t matter if considering the price range of the device.

In-built storage is of 8GB, which might not be a concern as Xolo has managed to include micro SD slots even with the reduced price.

The device will support micro SD cards of up to 32 GB. The front-cam is of 2MP, which seems sufficient for video conferences, while the primary rear cam is packed with an 8MP sensor, along with an LED flash.

Era will be running Android 4.4 KitKat OS, and will feature a battery capacity of 2100 mAh. The numbers are not big considering the screen size, but it sure can be considered to yield a solid backup when counting the other spec array, including the low resolution display.

XOLO-Era-2On the connectivity front, the device is powered to support 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, alongside the cable support for micro USBs.

The device will be battling it out with other sub-5000 devices like Huawei Honor B and Micromax Spark. Recently, the Moto E first gen has also been introduced with a price-slash, buffing the brawl inside the segment.
