After a couple of weeks since the introduction of the weak successor to Canvas Knight, Micromax is bringing on the next in line in the form of the Canvas Selfie Lens smartphone.

The new arrival in the Selfie series is rather a less flamboyant one unlike its predecessor and will be competing to collar the charm among the affordable mid-range segment.

With a price of INR 8,299, Micromax has demoted the spec line-up in the smartphone, similar to what they did with Canvas Knight 2.

Being featured in the image-centric smartphone is a primary cam of 8MP and a secondary cam of 5MP. The initial Selfie smartphone bragged a 13MP sensor on its front as well as the rear.

However, it still picks up some good value with the quality it offers as it packs a Sony sensor with Largan lens for the rear cam, and an OV sensor for the front cam.

The primary cam also comes paired with a LED flash. But it’s something else that forms the USP for this smartphone.

Micromax is boasting the addition of a clip-on lens as the prime entrancement in its Selfie Lens smartphone.

The 0.4x lens, suitable for cams on either side, will bring forward some enticing improvement in terms of wide-angle capture, both for video capture as well as image snapping.

Besides, it also packs various in-built filters and face beautification features in the camera.

On its hardware front, the device features a 1.3 quad-core processor that comes along with a RAM of 1GB. The display gets a mere improvement, but only in terms of size; the 5-inch display still features a 720p resolution.

Storage is of only 8GB. Users would sure have to switch to micro SDs if to fill hefty data, and can be of up to 32GB.

Featuring a battery pack of2800mAh, Canvas Selfie Lens claims to run for around 374 hours if put to standby mode, with a talk time offering of roughly 9 hours. There is no support for dual-SIM, and it will be running Android L OS out of the box.

Recently, Micromax has also made addition to the Canvas Knight series with Canvas Knight 2, and has also introduced the new Canvas Silver 5 flagship for INR 17,999.
