Micromax Canvas Knight 2 Looks like a Mini Version of its Elder Sibling

After a year since the launch of its Canvas Knight smartphone, Micromax has come up with the successor to its true flagship device, the Canvas Knight 2.

Announced for a pricing of INR 16,299 in India, the device will nevertheless be stacked only to fight premium devices in the mid-range segment.

The Canvas series has been a delight in terms of design, and the Knight 2 indeed follows its footsteps. With a metallic bezel embracing the smartphone, Canvas Knight 2 complies to what is required of a flagship device. However that’s not quite the same when you go deeper with the specs.

Spoiling the pleasure in the first place is the display front. Micromax seems to have fumbled with their display stratagem for this flagship device.

In an era where flagship smartphones are being transformed into the QHD powered ones, Canvas Knight 2 gets a downgraded 720 p resolution on its 5-inch sized screen, summing up a pixel density of around 294 ppi.

That’s certainly not something you want to see when shelling out a sum of over 15K.

The chipset packed is the octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC, with processors clocked at 1.5GHz. Coming along with this is a RAM of 2GB.

16GB is what you get with the in-built storage and it’s expandable, but quite bizarre that it supports microSDs of only up to 32GB.

The LTE dual-SIM smartphone also drops a count in terms of the battery offered. The 2,230 mAh battery is certainly not massive by numbers, but maybe it can pull up the desired running time.

The primary cam used is a 13MP one, while the front camera is of 5MP.

Although with some cuts here and there in terms of the inside specs, Micromax can sure retain its charm among the Indian customers with a love at first sight inducing appearance and that’s sure to grab many eyeballs.

Still it would be a stiffer task if to topple the rivals that are available under the same price bracket.
