So we finally have word from LG with the launch of G4 smartphones in India, but not on the exact release date though. The South Korean manufacturer has started pre-bookings for their latest smartphone, but no word is yet out on the pricing and the shipment date of the device.

However, the website does drop hints on the possible shipment date of the device to be during the mid- of June. Users who pre-order can also get some perky additions worth over INR 10000, which includes a metallic finish back panel, an extra battery with charging cradle, and also a one-time screen replacement.

The device was announced globally during the MWC at Barcelona during March. The 5.5-inch device packs the same 2560 x 1440 pixels of resolution, but comes with a bettered efficiency and display quality with the inclusion of Quantum IPS panels. The camera-duo is of a 16-megapixel front and 8 MP rear sensors, with the primary cams bragging a host of new features including the f/1.8 lens.

The heart of the device is formed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, which is coupled with a RAM of 3 GB. The processors used are the 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 dual-core and the 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core. 32GB of onboard storage has been provided, which can be expanded up to 128GB by means of microSD.

Although with the pricing kept undisclosed, it can be believed to be around Rs 51,500 as per the indications on Infibeam, where the product is already made available for shipment across the country.

Buyers who pre-order from the official site might also receive an offer to meet Amitabh Bachchan, who will be handing over the smartphone to the buyer.

G4 will also be LG’s first device to have its bootloader unlocked for custom ROM development.  Recently, LG has presented two new variants under the G4 series; the phablet edition G4 Stylus and the cheaper mid-powered G4 C edition.
