California based software firm Jive has launched its new office oriented real time-messaging app for iOS and Android devices. Called Jive Chime, the new app will be providing a platform for real-time conversation between colleagues, which can be in the form of one-to-one chats or group chats.

Business oriented app providers are not scarce in the field, with even Facebook launching the Enterprise edition of its social networking. And it’s the benefit of the veritable focus on business app strategy of Jive that may hit the pedal for their new app.

The app was announced by Jive back in January, alongside Jive People, another business oriented app that would serve as a network directory. During the time, CTO Matt Tucker said the aim is to offer the rich platform of Jive services to boost the business interactions of companies.

Jive Chime provides almost all the features of a real-time messaging app, like group and single chats, sharing of data, images and browsing through the older conversations. It also offers the employees to switch between the iOS/Android platforms and Windows/Mac platforms to stay connected all the time, no matter they are travelling or are at the desk.

A centralized console would let the admin of the group to add or remove the group members on a per head rate of $2 (£1.30) for a month. There are also customization options to turn off the notifications for specific chats, something that could be really helpful when you are involved in a plethora of team conversations.

Company CEO Elisa Steele expressed the belief that the design of the app to put people on its center would be the mainstay of the app to compete with its rival.

Jive Chime would be going head-on with the popular apps like Slack, Hipchat, and Hall.
