It seems like smartphone vendors are now running behind a rather new segment in the Indian market.

While entry-level smartphones were in abundance not long ago, they are now slightly moving aside to show the path for mid-range devices.

The latest to join that race is HTC, who has announced their arrival in the segment.

Desire 826, the latest mid-range fablet from HTC, has been launched with an effort to offer superior features at a smart price.

The device made its global debut during CES this year and the word of its Indian entry was announced by Faisal Siddiqui, President of HTC for South Asia region, and the device comes priced at INR 25,999.

The Desire 826 model brings the Full HD display experience onto a 5.5 inch Super LCD3 screen.

The 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC packs an octa-core processor, which is accompanied by a 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

The Ultrapixel technology has been roped in for the 4MP front cam, while the rear side is fitted with a 13MP primary cam.

The device offers on-board storage of 16GB. The one can be quite unsatisfying when having a glimpse on the rival phones.

Currently, almost all the leading ones have shifted gear to 32 GB on-board storage when coming to price ranges above INR 20K.

The recently launched Gionee Elife S7 also features 32 GB storage. However, HTC hasn’t dropped the external storage support for complying with the design norms, which has let them offer a support of up to 128GB micro SD cards.

The dual-SIM device also arrives with connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and also LTE technology.

The 2600 mAh battery assures a sounding life, given the battery-optimized performance of HTC sense interface based on Android 5.0 L.

The device also comes carrying Dolby technology that boosts the audio output in BoomSound speakers.
