Chinese manufacturer Gionee has finally decided to bring its latest flagship to the Indian market, with the company unveiling the smartphone in New Delhi on Friday.

The Elife S7 flagship will have its run in the country for a price of Rs 24,999, which may well stir up unease among the rival vendors.

Making its debut at the MWC during March, Gionee Elife S7 has been put on a slight duration of wait to make its touchdown in India, despite the country being one of the prominent markets for the Chinese manufacturers.

The flagship phone falls under an affordable premium smartphone category, among which phones like Huawei Honor 6 Plus, Xiaomi Mi 4, and Samsung Galaxy A5 are fighting it for dominant slots.

Packed with a 5.2-inch screen, the Elife S7 features a SuperAMOLED Full HD display. The front and back of the device come attached with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Mediatek 6752 octa-core processor inside the smartphone offers 64-bit processing technology at speeds of 1.7GHz.

On the storage front, the device brags 16GB capacity that comes with a RAM of 2GB. There is no space for an external storage though.

The primary cam is of 13MP and the front-cam packs an 8MP sensor. Gionee has also raised the bar by adding a 2,750mAh battery, which can run for over a day under normal usage.

Adding to that, there is also a battery saver mode which will hike the running time to around 45 hours.

The dual-SIM phone also offers TDD and FDD network compatibility on both the networks. The Android 5.0 powered device is run by the Amigo 3.0 customized OS.

Measuring 5.5mm in thickness, it’s also the world’s thinnest smartphone that offers Dual SIM compatibility, with the design having a U-shaped Skelton.

Gionee has also announced that the Elife S8 smartphone will be made available in markets by June.
