Microsoft has updated its information page revealing that Bitcoins can now be added to your account for purchasing its digital contents. Users can add Bitcoins using the digital wallet software installed in smartphones or PC.

The new announcement comes as a result of the partial integration with Georgia-based Bitcoin processor BitPay.

Currently users cannot make direct payment using Bitcoins; they could fill Bitcoins to their Microsoft accounts to purchase digital contents through various platforms including Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox Games, Xbox Music, and Xbox Video stores.

Sources report that there would be a further integration of Microsoft with Bitpay in the future. The duo will soon make an official announcement about their current tie-up.

The information page is also updated with instructions for adding Bitcoins to your Microsoft accounts. Smartphone users could use the QR code scanning in their digital wallet while PC users could add Bitcoins to their account by clicking the Pay with Bitcoin button.

However, Microsoft says that purchases carried out through Bitcoin transaction will not be refunded. Users could approach the Microsoft office in case of a fraudulent transaction. Further details are expected to be announced soon after the duo go through with the official integration.

Established in 2011 by Antonio Gallippi and Stephen Pair, Bitpay services have been offering payment services to multiple chains of businesses, which include popular integrations like PayPal, Demandware, Shopify, and Magento.
