‘Lingaa’ movie review and box-office collection report

Tamil film “Lingaa” starring superstar Rajinikanth was released on December 12, 2014 amidst a lot of expectations and some unwanted controversies.

“Lingaa” will see Rajinikanth in a double role, while Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha will debut down south with this film. The film also stars another popular actress, Anushka Shetty, in a leading role.

The screen count of “Lingaa” is close to 3,000 worldwide, which is huge. The Rajini-starrer is expected to have a opening in more than 600 screens in Tamil Nadu itself, beating the old record by “Endhiran” that released in 550 screens.

Directed by K. S. Ravikumar, the movie has music by A. R. Rehman and has been produced by Rockline Venkatesh.

The advance bookings of the movie have been on the higher side, according to a report on International Business Times.

Many multiplexes have reported to be sold out tickets till Sunday.

In Kerela, the screen count of the movie is 225, while in the United States, “Lingaa” will release on 300 screens or more, which also includes the Telugu versions.

No wonder, the 1st day collections of “Lingaa” will be huge in all respects and the film is expected to make more than 20 crores at the box office worldwide.

The movie will also release in United Kingdom, Canada on the same day as India. Eros International will be distributing the movie.

Some time back, the movie’s storyline was in controversy with some claims made that it was based on a Telugu movie.

The 1st and 2nd day box-office collections are expected to surpass all the previous Rajinikanth hits. Keep an eye here for more box office collections of “Lingaa”.
