November 29, 2014, By S Ranjita

It was an in and out Brendon McCullum show at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, as the 33 year old right hander scored a fast paced century in the second day of the third test against Pakistan.

The death of Australian Batsman Phillip Hughes had earlier set an air of gloominess in the match, but the performance of McCullum overpowered sadness, and he literally set the Sharjah pitch on fire.

At the end of second day, New Zealand has scored 249/1, chasing the Pakistani score of 351.

Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson are batting for New Zealand with 153 and 76 runs respectively. McCullum’s innings comprised of 17 boundaries and eight maximums whereas Kane Williamson hit seven boundaries and one six.

Yasir Shah and Sulfiqar Babar, the two kingpins in the Pakistani bowling attack tasted the fury of McCullum’s batting to the fullest.

Babar conceded 71 runs in 10 overs, whereas Yasir Shah gave away 59 in 10.
