Apple Event on October 16 Rumored to Feature Fresh iPad

October 6, 2014, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It seems like Apple has no intention to stay off headlines. Even before the wave created by the iPhone 6 launch came to a standstill, the infamous ‘bendgate’ rocked news space.

Now it’s an event rumored to be scheduled for October 16th that has been generating widespread interest.

We first heard of the event from John Paczkowski of Re/Code and according to what he wrote, the event is shaping up at the Town Hall Auditorium on October 16th. There hasn’t been any official announcement from Apple on the product to be launched, but as usual, speculations have been piling up with a new iPad topping the list.

It does make sense. Last year, it was the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display that got featured around this time of the year. But nothing comes as sort of a guarantee for the same.

Bloomberg reports the same and expects the 9.7 inch iPad and also the iPad mini to be launched at the upcoming event.

But iPad is not alone in the list. Apple Insider reports that a 27-inch iMac featuring Retina Display might make its debut along with the iPad.

Sources have been quoted as saying that Touch ID would find its place in the iPad and also the Yosemite OS could be up for launch around that time.

The list doesn’t end here. Macbook also gets dragged in to find its share of space among speculations. None can rule out a possibility of that either, and if it happens, this device could feature alongside the line of products mentioned earlier.

Keep aside the product list and we have the one point of focus. The bendgate issue would not be something Apple could easily pull out of, when taking part in the first of their events being held after the issue broke out.

The event may not be a grandeur occasion as it was in September, but it sure can be billed as being more eventful.
