The men at work at Hewlett-Packard feel that is not enough. That’s exactly why the new HP Slate 17 would be adding more and more features while falling under the all-in-one device range. The upcoming tablet which has been playing hide and seek on headline space, will also let users to use it as display monitor if needed.

Sounds cool, indeed! One wouldn’t mind having a spare monitor in his basket at the cost of a tablet-notebook.

Let’s not forget what it primarily intends to do. The HP Slate 17 is the newbie in the Slate series of all-in-one devices that could be used as tablets or desktops. The Slate 17 does have the screen size the previous models had boasted of. The new device however sheds a bit of hardware.

If it was the NVIDIA Tegra processors powering the larger HP Slates, it would be the Intel Celeron N2807 Bay Trail processor that would be finding its place in the Slate 17. That could raise a concern as customers normally tend to expect higher processing capabilities.

Packed with 2GB of RAM, the device would also be featuring Beats Audio, HDMI port, USB 2.0 port, memory card reader, 720p webcam alongside the FullHD touch-display according to the sources. Connectivity could be established by means of the built-in 802,11a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.
