While smartphone manufacturers are in a rush to stack in more and more specs into devices they make, some are focusing more on the camera department.

Many of such thoughts and research hugely revolve around the selfie parameter and they are all aimed at being able to boast an upper hand on the selfie factor.  Realizing the Indian customer’s hunger to click selfies all the time, India based Lava has brought to the market a device that would make you excel in that.

The Lava Iris X5 does indeed look decent with the specs. The selfie freaks would love it. Packing a 5 megapixel camera that promises superior quality images, the X5 is one good rig we would want to buy.  A front-facing flash finds its place along with the front cam so as to boost the selfie images.

Even if you keep aside the camera, you will realize that you have a decently powered smartphone on any count. The 5-inch IPS display packs in an HD resolution of 720p. What powers the X5 is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB RAM to run the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

On the rear, it has an 8MP camera that carries along an LED flash and an Omni BSI-2 sensor. The power juice for the dual-SIM phone flows in from a 2100 mAH Li-ion battery.

On the storage front, 8 GB of onboard storage has been offered in the X5. It’s not that Lava hasn’t realized that that is one area that is weak. However, it has provided the users with expandable memory options of up to 32 GB by means of micro SD.

The Iris X5 has already shown up in the retails across India and if you prefer an online purchase , head here for Amazon. Priced at INR 8,649, the device could make you smile even f you aren’t a selfie addict!
