Kobo Aura H2O Boasts Awesome Display Features; Arriving in the First Week of September

Even with the massive number of incoming of tablets and smartphones, eBook readers have stood up with their own legacy in the book-akin experience.

They have, in fact, continuously witnessed slighter evolutions that made sure an enhancement in the reading experience. Adding to such a welcome experience, arrives the new Kobo Aura H2O.

A recent leak of the eBook reader from the Canada-based Kobo Inc. was posted by the German eBook blog Alles Book and it is believed to feature the specifications of the new Aura H2O.

When it features the name H2O, one could possibly start with some guesswork. And if that guess ends up with water resistance, then it requires no correction. The Kobo Aura H2O casing offers high levels of water and dust resistance and comes as IP67 certified.


The screen real estate is reported to be a 6.8 inch E-Ink Carta display, boasting a 1430 x 1080 resolution. That would in fact stand atop any existing display available in the eReader market. The reader is powered by a 1GHz processor and holds an internal storage space of 4 GB, expandable by using micro SD.

The Aura H2O measures 7″ x 5.1″ x 0.4″ and weighs 233 g. The battery backup could keep the device running in a single charge for up to two months even with ample reading.

If the rumors are true, then Kobo Aura H2O will be releasing in the first week of September and the price is assumed to be around $179.
