As for India, they may have to go on the field without Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, which is expected to make some dent. For India, the new series is more of a challenge, with a complete young and inexperienced team at play.

While Bhuvneshwar was all short in length at the third test in Southampton, Ishant is out, leaving little scope for the Indian bowling squad.

On the plus side, it has been Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay, who did much of the job. One also wonders on why Stuart Binny wasn’t used to the fullest.

If the spin department worries aren’t enough, both Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli are yet to gain form, and same goes with Cheteshwar Pujara. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin may save the grace of visiting side in the spin department.

As for England, things are a tad brighter. Jos Butler, who had replaced Matt Prior, did his job fairly well in the last game.

Apart from the skipper, even Bell has found his form back. Add to that, there is Gary Balance with the runs and Moeen Ali doing wonderful with the ball.

The home team has to worry a bit about the return of Steve Finn, and also the forms of Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes hasn’t been great. Unlike India, England doesn’t have too many replacement and injury issues, which should work for them.
