If you though the P1 edition lacked the bit of horse power you looked for, the time has come for something spectacular. The McLaren P1 GTR edition is all set to drive in.

The ultimate track-focused race car is set for its unveiling at the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance auto expo.

McLaren has revealed the official sketch of the auto beast, which is set to go into production by 2015. With an improved bhp of 986 (903 for the McLaren P1), the beast delivers an immense acceleration of 0-62mpH in just 2.5 seconds.

With a kerbweight of around 1400 Kg, the 3.8 twin turbo V8 engine coupled with a 176bhp lightweight electric motor has been redesigned to deliver the improved horsepower.

Expected to make its public debut during the same week as that of its launch at the Pebble Beach Auto Axpo, the P1 GTR is expected to hold the legacy of its origin.

The original P1, which was revealed way back in 2012, had sold out 375 units despite being priced around $1.35 million. With a price higher than its predecessor, GTR will be expected to hit the market in a seemingly better manner with improved performances and specialization on the track focus as demanded by the users.

The McLaren P1 GTR will be revealed on its full form at the 18th Fairway at Pebble Beach Lodge on Friday August 15. We hear the unit production for the P1 GTR is set to start by June 2015.
