July 9, 2014, By S Ranjita

After Germany’s massive win in the World Cup finals against Brazil, Argentina is all set to take on Netherlands on July 9, 2014 at Corinthians Stadium, Sao Paulo.

The match starts at 1:30 a.m. IST.

Argentina has a chance to return to the finals for the first time since 1990.

messi argentina

Messi fans expect him to score today!

Team Argentina has shown some amazing play in the quarterfinals against Belgium where they presented a strong defense which helped the team reach the next level.

The central defenders Ezequiel Garay and Martin Demichelis prevented Romero to play his game. Also, the goal scorer in the match wasn’t Messi but Gonzalo Higuain which is testimony to the fact that though the side largely depends upon Messi, it can very well survive without their star player as well.

On the other hand is the strong and confident Dutch side who have also played extremely well in the knock stages and have achieved success with hard work and excellent play.

The Dutch team might consider bringing in Nigel De Jong back from injury for the big match but still their point of concern will be concentrated on Robin Van Persie’s stomach problem.

Argentina will be playing without Angel Di Maria who injured his thigh in the play against Belgium and he should be replaced by Maxi Rodriguez.

dutch fanAbsence of Maria will definitely add on to the pressure on Messi as he will also have to be an effective defender in today’s game.

Two strong teams, star players on both sides, fans are on for some magic though as per experts not many goals will be scored and there will be only one goal difference to take either Argentina or Netherlands a step closer to their dream- The Fifa World Cup 2014 trophy where they will meet Germany.

The highlights videos will be uploaded here after the match is over.
