Strand Craft Wet Rod Set to Offer Luxurious Ways of Ruling the Waves

July 4, 2014, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Ultimate fun for many out there comes in the form of water adventures. Beach regulars swear by this and the adventurous lot can, most of the time, be seen riding the waves.

It is in this context that the jet ski companies made their fortune. Those who couldn’t go cruising in luxury yachts preferred to settle for jet skis, so that they can rule the towering waves.

With jet skis turning too much of a common feature, everyone would have thought of trying out something new on that front. Looks like Yacht designer Kurt Strand of Strand Craft also was thinking on those lines.

Strand has come up with a new design of what he would love to term watercraft.  The new watercraft is in the works and will come to the market sporting the name Strand Craft V8 Wet Rod. Aimed at beach luxury lovers, the Wet Rod will help you tower over the rising waves in gay abandon while the whole world watches.

What Strand Craft is developing is a 16-foot carbon fiber or epoxy body luxury vessel. The watercraft will be powered by a 300-hp 5.7-liter V8 engine.

One exciting fact about the new  watercraft is that it would boast a water jet propulsion system capable of powering the Wet rod to a top speed of 65 mph. Isn’t that worth a try?

It isn’t just a jet ski alternative, to say the least. Look inside and you will find storage space for drinks inside. The storage space is an ice box that rests underneath the seat. Meanwhile, the maker has also provisioned space for larger items in a waterproof luggage box.

Once you decide to have one for yourself, you will have the option of choosing extras such as wood or carbon fiber inlays, custom paint or wrapping, a custom trailer, a sound system, a chrome engine dress-up kit, and GPS navigation, says the company.

Going by the pace of development, we might get to see the Wet Rod commercially available later this year. Keep aside $49,000 so that you can be one of those who can own one as soon as it launches.

So beach bodies, tell us if you are excited at the proposition of a new arrival in your midst.
