In one of  today’s Fifa 2014 World cup matches, The United States will take on mighty Germany at the Pernambuco, Recife Stadium.

The match starts at 1:00 p.m. local,  9:30 pm India time.

USA and Germany have faced each other nine times before and no match has been drawn between them. 6 have been won by Germany and 3 by USA.

Thus in a way Germany holds a better chance today as well.

After drawing the match against Portugal on Sunday, USA will today need at least one point against Germany to advance further to the next level and reach the knockout stage.

Germany vs USAThe most fascinating factor about today’s match is that if USA happens to lose today, the group will be going further to the tiebreakers.

USA will either be hoping that they are able to earn 1 point against Germany or that Portugal wins over Ghana because the goal differential will be higher in that case and it would pave the way for USA into the knockout stage easily.

The broadcasting rights of the match are with ABC, ESPN, Univision in the USA and ARD, ZDF in Germany.

Viewers in India can watch the match live on Sony Six TV channel while ESPN will be live streaming the match for U.S viewers at its official website.

The live streaming can be watched on ESPN here for free in the US.

If we talk about the main match in detail, Germany will have to work upon their two main weaknesses, left back and central midfield.

Benedikt Howedes has not proved to be very good for the squad and the best left back in the world, Phillip Lahm has been off in the past two matches.

On the other hand USA might get a chance on the counter if it can dispossess Lahm and Semi Khedira in the middle of the pitch.
