Xiaomi Mipad Arriving in China Market on July 1

When news of Xiaomi trying to get into the tablet terrain had spread, almost all the world looked towards it with enthusiasm. It now looks like the slate is ready for arrival, and is expected to hit the China market on July 1.

The launch date is so near, actually and it is time to try and get a deeper look into the innards of the device before we plan to buy one of them.

On closer look, we get to know that the Xiaomi Mipad, as it is called, would prove to be a close rival to Apple’s iPad mini.


Powering the device will be an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor. The Mipad will sport a display of 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution and also a custom app called MIUI, and will be coming along with Android OS.

It is being said that the Mipad will be one of the pioneer slates that would boast NVIDIA quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor that offers 192-core graphics.

On the imaging front is a rear camera of 8 mega pixels and also a  front-facing 5 megapixel snapper.


The other specs include 2GB RAM,16GB of internal memory, 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity.

Also included are Bluetooth 4.0 support, and stereo speakers. The device gets its power from a 6,700mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Mipad is expected to sell for around $240 when it hits retail.
