ZUtA Pocket Printer Will Print Documents for You While on the Go

April 29, 2014, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

As a professional who has got to travel a lot, you have often found it tough finding ways to print copies of documents you need.

These are instances when you have hoped for a mobile printer. You have seriously wished of owning a pocket sized printer that would help you big time while on the go.

It now looks like folks from Israel have also thought on those lines. They have now come up with a simple printer that looks so tiny that it fits into your pocket.

ZUtA

Christened ZUtA Pocket Printer, the new rig has thrown conventional printing stuff to the wind and stays slim in terms of components. That means, you won’t be able to see all those ingredients you see in a traditional printer in the ZUtA. One thing it has retained is the printhead, the most important part you need in a printer. .

So the portable printer has arrived, folks! What makes it even more significant is that it doesn’t demand any special driver, and can be accessed from PCs, smart phones and tablets.  You can do that by using the traditional print function or an app.

The ZUtA can support 1000 sheets of paper to print and has a replaceable ink cartridge. On full charge of the battery, the device will run for an hour at a stretch. Recharging is possible with a USB cable.

How do you pint with this? We know, that’s your immediate query. ZUtA has been tailor made to line itself up with the corner of the paper so that the documents come out straight. The device then goes about its job in such a way that it rolls across the blank sheet on small, multi-directional wheels all the while spraying ink.

Make sure that you print only smaller documents of the size of tickets and such. Also, you will be able to print a document in around 45 seconds.

Part of the Friedberg Entrepreneurship Program that provided the project with  initial funding, use of facilities and professional guidance, the new device  takes its name from the ancient Aramaic word for small.

So what do you think of this one?  At present, the focus of a Kickstarter campaign , it has already raised more than $450,000 out of a $400,000 goal in just 12 days.

When it goes retail, you will be able to buy one for yourself for $240. Wait for ZUtA to arrive in January.
