We have seen the HTC one perform to potential and are all happy about it. What if the company offers you a brand new successor to this device you love most?

You would go grab it, of course. But then you would also want to know what it carries along with it before you run for it, right.

Going by what folks at @evleaks have unearthed, the successor to HTC’s One  could most probably arrived in our midst by late-March. It is being said that the launch would be scheduled to get underway in New York City,

What @evleaks has found is that the fresh, upcoming device is being called HTC M8 at the company’s stables, but the name at launch could be HTC M8.

If you are expecting it for the Mobile World Congress that is scheduled to begin this month, chances are that you would have to stay disappointed. The date of arrival could be sometime in March as we pointed out earlier.

The debut would most likely be a grand affair, with HTC planning something big at New York.

So, if you are willing to wait till March to get going, this is what the device would come sporting:

HTC One’s successor model would flaunt its 5-inch 1080p display, while hiding under the hood a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and  16GB of storage. The company is also throwing in a microSD slot for further expansion of storage.

The operating system, as you would know, is the Google creation. The version we guess could be the much spoken about and anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat.

We also hear that the camera would sport two sensors, this makes us think that HTC could be looking at giving the customer some Lytro-esque effects that would let you refocus the image after a shot is clicked. Power capabilities would be taken care of by a 2,900mAh battery.

It is also being said that the HTC M8 might end its relationship with the capacitive buttons after so long.  They might be replaced with onscreen buttons.

We are now just waiting to hear from the company as to what kind of an event is being planned for New York City this March. Stay tuned.
