If you are a regular at BestBuy, you would have come across this already. For those who aren’t, let’s tell you the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 convertible sporting an Intel Pentium Bay Trail processor is up for grabs  at the moment.

The device, an 11.6 inch touchscreen laptop, which doubles up as a tablet when you just fold back the display 360 degrees, has been one sought after device from the Lenovo stables of late.

The cheapest among the Lenovo Yoga line  up of convertible slates, it can be yours for just $500 on BestBuy. What you will find at the retailer site is a device that boasts 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive.

Featuring an Intel Pentium N3510  chip with a TDP of 7.5W, the convertible is built on the same foundation of Intel’s latest Atom chips. However, what makes it more exciting is the presence of 2 the GHz quad-core processor that uses a bit more power.

And it gives you added performance levels, and also supports up to 8GB of RAM.  Lenovo has also thrown in Intel HD graphics to boot.

What you would find charming would be the less noise it generates. This comes thanks to the low-power chip, which helps in producing less heat, and you can also deploy passive cooling.

The makers have also included two speaker grills on the bottom of the case. The convertible tablet-laptop sports a 1366 x 768 pixel touchscreen display, and has connectivity options that range from 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 port, to an SD card reader. A micro HDMi port is also part of the architecture.

The imaging department is taken care of by a 720p camera. What might disappoint you is the absence of options to get a free copy of Microsoft Office with this model. This is due to the fact that the Yoga 2 II is a tad big to qualify for the free Office Home & Student license.

But then, not to worry, though. The sale will make sure that you get your hands on Windows 8.1 64-bit and a 30-day trail of Office 2013.

At 11.7″ x 8.1″ x 0.7″ and about 2.9 pounds in dimensions, you might feel the device a bit heavy for a slate. But the look at it as a laptop and you will find the dimensions are just about perfect.
