Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumored to be Getting Set for Arrival on February 23

It looks like Samsung will launch its Galaxy S5 even before the Mobile World Congress gets off to a start.

Going by the buzz we hear all around, the device might make its entry by February 23. We just stumbled upon Eldar Murtazin, a blogger from Russia, revealing  that Samsung will unveil its Galaxy S5 in Barcelona exactly at 6pm on 23 February.

Going by what he says, in a tweet that is less than 140 characters, the price of the Galaxy S5 would be the same as Samsung Galaxy S4. That means you will be able to pick your S5 for around £630, in the European markets.

The new gadget will also come with an updated Touchwiz. Apart from Murtazin’s tweets, other reports also suggest that the handset will come in two versions – a metal  high-end model, and a plastic model which would be cheaper.

While the metal version is expected to be powered by Samsung’s eight-core Exynos 6 chip, the affordable plastic model will have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is also thought to have a larger screen than S4. We also get to hear that the resolution may even be 2K HD. The screen maybe flexible too, but all these are rumors.

Other features that are likely to be included could be an  iPhone 5S style fingerprint scanner, a 20MP camera, an upgraded front-facing camera, Google’s Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system and a 2,900mAh battery.

Along with Galaxy S5 smartphone, Samsung will also unveil its second generation Galaxy Gear smartwatch as well as other handsets like Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom handsets.

We guess the wait is soon getting over.
