Garmin, the company founded in 1989, has made its name in the watche category.

The consumer GPS major has already manufactured wrist watches for runners, hikers and even swimmers.

The latest is that the wrist watch pioneer is going to develop a product for pilots. The new wearable named D2 Pilot Watch contains all the necessary features, as well as some advanced ones.

The new GPS-equipped watch is made to be helpful for pilots in all senses. The watch is stylish as well as light weight.

The device features direct-to and nearest navigation functions as well as a built in altimeter with adjustable barometer setting and altitude alert capabilities.

The watch also has the ability to integrate with the Garmin Pilot app and Garmin’s VIRB HD camera. Local as well as Zulu time will be displayed.

The watch incorporates a WAAS GPS receiver and also a worldwide aviation database. Highly customizable, the device would enable the user to assign customized data fields to display GPS ground speed, GPS track, distance, estimated time enroute, bearing and Glide ratio too.

Yet another feature called altitude altering has also been thrown in. Pilots can set vibrating alerts to remind themselves of critical operations such as when to switch fuel tanks mid-flight. This smart watch  comes with a price tag of $449.
