September 25, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

If you haven’t already taken a look at the new HP hybrid ultrabook, its time you did.  The new Spectre 13 hybrid ultrabook unveiled by the company is one of the thinnest of its kind.

With a very thin profile and attractive industrial design, the company is aiming at professionals who love to work on the go.

The 15mm thick machine just weighs about 3.35 pounds. The product features an aluminium case, which adds to the beauty. The company has claimed that the device is the first fanless detachable ultrabook with a Haswell processor.

In case you missed out, this Spectre 13 series machine comes with a handful of features, and one good thing about it is that it comes loaded with the latest version of Windows operating system.

This device in the series fills the gap between ultrabooks and tablets. Sporting a 13 inch display, the hybrid device has nice features such as Beats Audio speakers to provide high level of entertainment. The high definition screen is capable of delivering 1920 x 1080 pixels 1080p hig- resolution display.

The detachable backlit keyboard makes typing comfortable. The large sized keyboard provides a better typing experience compared to its rivals like Dell XPS 12. It also features an extra wide touch pad that allows users to use some Windows 8.1 gestures. The device also features a mini display port. It also has two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot. The HDMI port enables the user to connect the device with a projector.

The powerful fourth generation Intel core i5 processor of the device acts good in all senses. The machine comes with 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD. You will be able to upgrade storage upto 256 GB of SSD.

The machine also features the new HP Control Zone, which is a textured area on two sides of the wide touch surface designed specifically for navigating on Windows 8.1.

The device, which has novel features, is also aesthetically made. The company claims that the device has the battery life of around 9 hours.

However, the price of the device is not what we would like to pay. The Spectre 13 X2 ultrabook version  of the device will come for a price of $999.99.

As of now, there is no official information on the release date. But then, we need to expect it this winter.
