Sony has announced its latest head mounted display at the IFA in Berlin. The new hardware named HMZ-T3W is a third generation, dual screen head mount from the company.
The 3D personal viewer comes with features like 7.1 channel virtual surround sound and two small OLED displays.
The device is capable of taking you to a virtual reality platform, which would make you feel like you are viewing videos on a 750 inch television placed at a distance of 20 meters.
The completely wireless head mounted display has a large viewing space and it gives full HD output too. You will be able to view 2D videos too with the device.
The two OLED displays, one for each eye, can be adjusted individually so as to get the picture focused.
The battery life boasted is around three hours if you are using the device wirelessly and the battery life can be expanded up to seven hours if used by connecting it via HDMI.
The third generation device has a nice ergonomic design compared to its predecessor. It is also lighter than the previous model. The metallic finish of the device gives it a classy look.
You will be able to connect the HMZ-T3W to TV, gaming console, PC and smart phones. We hear the device will be released this November. The price of the multiple purpose head mount could be a tad higher at 1300 Euros.
Tell us if it charms you.
