Taiwanese multinational giant Acer has announced a new phablet model and a new 10 inch tablet – all at one go. The Liquid S2 Phablet announced by the company in Berlin has a large 6-inch screen and the capability to record 4K videos.

Meanwhile, Acer’s new 10.1 inch Iconia tablet will also be in the market soon. The company made the new announcements in the IFA trade show.

The Liquid S2 tablet comes with features such as 1920×1080 display with 338 ppi, which we think is awesome. The model comes powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and runs Android version 4.2.2.

The device provides 16GB of in built storage plus an additional card slot, which can be used to expand the memory up to 128 GB.

The 13 megapixel primary camera and the 2 MP secondary camera are sufficient for shooting high quality videos and good quality video calling.

One drawback we find with the model is that the 4K videos shot with the rear facing camera cannot be playable in the device. However, the multiple photo modes available in the camera will be good for the user to edit photos as well.

Acer’s Float user interface which enables the user to open several apps at once is another good feature of the phone. You will be able to customize the Float app shortcut for using it conveniently according to your requirement.

The device boasts 3G, 4G and the latest Wi Fi connectivity. The device will be available in the market from October last week.

In the meantime, the 10.1 inch Iconia A3 tablet features a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 Processor and sports 1280 x 800 display. The 5 megapixel primary camera is good in all respects, and the company claims that the device has wide viewing angles.

A good entertainment device, it features Dolby Digital Plus sound among other features. The built-in micro HDMI port enables the user to connect the tablet with projectors for displaying videos and presentations.

The device comes in both 16 GB and 32 GB versions. The Wi Fi model will be available from October first week at a price about $328 and the 3G model is expected to come in November at a price tag of about $395.
