Polaroid Socialmatic Camera to Hit Market in 2014

July 22, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Polaroid’s Socialmatic was originally conceived as an Instagram device but then the company partnered with Polaroid. Reportedly, the camera will be released in 2014 with a price tag of $299 (£196).

Like Samsung’s Galaxy Camera, the Polaroid Socialmatic is also dedicated to sharing photographs. Interestingly, this snapper comes with a Zink Instant Printer, so that you can get a physical print of the picture.

Akin to the Samsung Galaxy Camera, this Polaroid Socialmatic camera lets you share photos online and supports connectivity options such as GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.

Socialmatic comes with a 14-megapixel front camera and a 2-megapixel rear-facing shooter for capturing self portraits. Sadly, this device comes with an LED flash instead of Xenon.

Other features of this device include a small LCD panel, a 4.3-inches rear display and stereo speakers. The device also holds 4GB in-built storage along with a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On software front, it includes a mood assistant, variety of photo filters and small emoticons and icons.

Right now, we are not sure that if you need a different smartphone or device to get the print, but manufactures have confirmed that this camera will let you print pictures received from other Socialmatic cameras.
