2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Teased

Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled a teaser video of its new 577-hp S63 AMG. The vehicle is actually set for public debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Comparing it with other S-class models, the S63 comes with several style changes. A new front bumper, beefier side sills, and larger 19-inch alloy wheels and chromed blade grille are some of them.

Though the vehicle is slightly larger than the standard cars from Merc, it weighs about 4,400 pounds, which is 220 pounds less than its predecessor. This could be possible because of the AMG forged alloys, a lightweight lithium-ion battery and also a lighter two-piece braking system.

Performance wise, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG will deliver the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint within just 4.4 seconds for both SWB and LWB versions.

Fuel consumption of the S63 stands at 27.9 mpg UK (23.2 mpg US or 10 liters / 100 km) for the rear-wheel drive models and at 27.4 mpg UK (22.8 mpg US or 10.3 liters / 100 km) for the 4MATIC version.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz is expected to release with a price tag of $140,000 and will arrive in U.S. showrooms by this November. Take a look at the teaser below and tell us your thoughts.
