A verified check mark right beside your profile name on your the social page hopefully indicates that you are a celebrity or a renowned personality having an appreciable number of believers from your social space.
If we ordinary people intend to search their social pages so as to find what they have been up to in their busy lives, there will be a million fake pages that tout to be theirs.
Twitter’s verified badge awarded to legit profiles of celebrities, public figures, brands and popular websites have made the search exercise much easier.
Like Twitter, Facebook has also adopted the method of giving verified check marks on the profiles of important pages. This kicked off in May. Facebook recognizes the persons/brands and verifies with check marks if they are important to be called popular.
Now, for the sake of iOS users, Facebook has released an update for its iOS app to include the verified account feature.
So like the Facebook on the PCs, the iOS users can find verified check mark right next to the name of popular pages in the timelines, profile pages and search results. Marked Version 6.3, the update also brings some tweaks and fixes for the iOS app, especially for the iPads.
Installing the 35.6 MB update for free from the App Store will make your iPad to load the News Feed faster, which was earlier a problem for some people.
They have also improved the “places” editing feature, so that users can fix categories and other contact information regarding the places.
