Apple WWDC: Are You Among Those Who Trust Grapevine Buzz?

June 10, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is kick starting in a while with a keynote. And, like many other Apple’s fans we have been following Apple for news.

Obviously, Apple is preparing to unveil a few new products including its latest iOS 7 software at the prestigious event. Though we have been going through loads of rumors on the next outing of the iOS edition, we weren’t sure as to what all are true ad which ones were just rumors.

It is at this juncture that this week’s episode of The Talk Show podcast saw John Gruber the owner and writer at Daring Fireball’s discussing a few tidbits he had heard about the new iOS platform. This is what I call interesting!

Okay, for those who missed out what he had said, here goes:

I know almost absolutely nothing. I don’t think I’ve been this ignorant of what’s coming, software-wise, for a keynote since the iPhone 1 back in 2007. Which is great…I’m super excited. […]

The one thing I keep hearing over and over again from friends who would know is…the one word I keep hearing is that some of the stuff they’re going to show is “polarizing”.

And I also heard from somebody that just “all the leaks are wrong”. Which is interesting. I have no idea what to make of it.

Here’s the audio, in case you would want:

John Gruber, is one of the familiar names for those who follow tech news. In the past too, he had been able to share a few leaks about Apple products. We need to believe that Gruber has strong connections inside Cupertino and that’s what gives him information on what the company is working on next.

Although he hasn’t suggested any specific details, he has clearly indicated that he has little knowledge about Apple’s plans this time. He has also mentioned that one source has indicated that all the ‘leaks are wrong’.

However, even Gruber is not entirely sure what it means, but for the past few weeks it has been widely rumored that Apple’s iOS is getting a new a flatter look and Apple’s Jony Ive is working on iOS7 with a new interface.

Considering Gruber’s track record , it is surprising that even someone like him is not sure about Apple plans. Maybe Apple is extra secretive and it is good sign.

Well, whatever Apple is going to introduce at its Developers Conference, surely will be a surprise. The earlier rumor mills have suggested that Apple will introduce its upcoming iOS 7 and OS X 10.9, at this event, along with a new radio service named the “iRadio” and new hardware such as notebooks and probably new Macbooks. We hope that Apple surely has something exciting for its customers.

Unfortunately, at the moment, nobody is able to confirm any thing. I guess Apple has this time managed to keep the wrap intact. What say?
